Michael Skerat, born in 1961, studied engineering with a specialization in "production and plastics technology". In addition he completed a REFA labour organization program (REFA: German organization for work design, industrial organization and company development). Next, he joined Grillo in the construction sector in 1992 and managed a project with the objective of integrating innovative UV bonding surfaces into roof systems.
In 1993, Michael Skerat moved to Krauss Maffei, where he initially managed projects in injection moulding before working in key account management with responsibility for a major client in the automotive industry. He was a selected by Rochus Mummert for a junior executive programme and sent to Krauss Maffei UK, where he helped the company's senior management set up new structures and, in particular, introduce an effective project management system. Next, he completed a further training programme at the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in general management, business administration, sales and marketing.
Michael Skerat was appointed Managing Director of the KraussMaffei Vertrieb- und Service Norddeutschland GmbH subsidiary in 2001. He pushed forward the restructuring and optimization of the sales and service processes, set up efficient structures and founded a new branch in Saxony-Anhalt. During this time, the subsidiary took over the sales unit for reaction plants and integrated it into the injection moulding sales department, enabling it to leverage synergies with a lean, effective team for customers.
In 2011, Michael Skerat moved to a successful, medium-sized, owner-operated company with short decision-making processes. He streamlined processes and restructured the sales and marketing department there – successfully implementing measures worldwide.
Michael Skerat founded msPROBERA in 2013 because his strengths are his independence, analytical skills and competence at changing process and sustainably realigning corporate strategy. He has carried out consulting projects in various areas in the automotive sector, successfully implementing projects in the areas of analysis, process optimization and change management across the world.
Since 2015, Michael Skerat and Franz Schoppe have jointly managed skeratschoppe GmbH – Change, Concepts, Implementation. Together they have decades of experience in management consultancy and have held many different positions of responsibility in industry.

Franz Schoppe, born in 1960, already developed a feel for integral process cycles in his very first role as project manager with the company SFB Spezial-Filter und Anlagenbau from 1985 to 1987. In this role, he was responsible for planning and implementing powder coating systems throughout the entire value-creation process: from development, construction, order processing through to commissioning and customer care.
He also already started developing his negotiation skills and a special expertise in deciphering customer needs.
Next, he was offered a position in production control with toy manufacturer THEO Klein, where Franz Schoppe successfully restructured and improved efficiency in production and materials management. Another of his achievements at THEO Klein was to develop and implement a new IT system for the chaotic warehousing system.
In 1989, he founded the planning and construction office SCHOPPE. Initially, his activities focused on providing CAD development and construction services, mainly to medium-sized companies. The company's objective was to find constructive solutions for client assignments.
While providing services to his clients, he was also exposed to their problems and, as a result, built up a growing repertoire of complex process solutions – going as far as coaching processes in development.
As a result of business contacts established with management consultancies, Franz Schoppe started performing new assignments as a technical management consultant. His new focus was on conducting "value analyses for automotive projects" with the aim of cutting costs, in particular at the start-up stage. This role required him to manage teams of experts and to question everything in order to achieve lean processes and economic solutions.
Alongside his activities in the automotive industry, Franz Schoppe also worked in the areas of plant and mechanical engineering and in precision measurement technology in the nanometre range.
In addition, he has a very diverse range of experience in other areas, such as drawing up company evaluations, which involves examining all production and order processing operations across the entire value-creation process, or supporting a European company with the biding process at the UN in New York.
Over the years, his focus has increasingly shifted towards coaching. Franz Schoppe supports various manufacturers with complex vehicle development projects, in particularly securing functioning project organization structures and binding decision-making processes.
In 2009, he joined the management of GRAEFF Container & Hallenbau GmbH and temporarily assumed overall responsibility for the company as interim Managing Director.
In the following years, Franz Schoppe focused his consultancy activities on efficiency-enhancement processes in vehicle assembly with the objective of reducing wastage. This included identifying potential approaches, managing and coordinating sub-project teams, and performing Cardboard Simulations in order to develop and implement solutions.
Since 2015, Franz Schoppe and Michael Skerat have jointly managed skeratschoppe GmbH – Change, Concepts, Implementation. Bringing together decades of experience in management consultancy and a synergy of expertise acquired in positions of responsibility in industry, Michael Skerat and Franz Schoppe are a unique team with extensive competence and know-how.
